Beautiful Texture

Photography by Warren Smith, Rachel Whiting, and Miranda Swallow of Refresh Agency.

I guess if I had a theme for the week, it would be texture. Layers of texture can make any environment a much more multi-dimensional. In my opinion, so many of us respond to beautiful textures; because we it reminds us of nature, and of times gone by.

Dilapidated Beauty.

This not something I normally do, but here are some of my personal photos. I spent some time this weekend taking pictures of one of my favorite things...peeling paint. I'm not sure why I am so obsessed with peeling, rusty and dilapidated things. Regardless of the reason, I search it out wherever I go and feel a real connection to it.

Blogs I Love: My Polaroid Blog

Hi everyone, I'm posting light today, because I have a migraine. Staring at a computer right now feels like daggers in my eyes...maybe that's a little far-fetched, but you know what I mean. Despite that I thought I would share a visual treat for everyone else. I love a blog I just found called My Polaroid Blog. All I know about it, is that its written by a girl named Jen from California, and its very cute.

This blog makes me think of sunny summer days. Jen has a great way of capturing simple details. I've become infatuated with Polaroid photos...maybe I need a Polaroid camera too.
I've decided to share other intriguing blogs, as I find them, so keep an eye out for that. In the mean time, I am going to give my eyes a rest.

The Hard Work Has Paid Off!

Image from "My Pocket"....thanks, Caroline.

Here it is, my new format!!!! As you can see, I changed my template, photo size, and banner. I had not planned on changing everything, but when I changed the photo size, I had to change the template, and then I had to change the banner! Man, what a mess. It took all weekend, and a lot of help from my lovely husband, but I think I like the results. I got alot of helpful tips from Patricia Gray and All Things Bright and Beautiful. Let me know what you think.

Beyond Wallpaper.

I have slyly alluded to my distrust of wallpaper. I know its the hottest thing out there, I just don't like the "permanence" of it. I have used wallpaper on some of my projects, but I usually keep it to a minimum. So, you can imagine my delight to find the work of J. Prichard Design.
Jennifer Prichard crafts these beautiful porcelain pieces that are made into spectacular wall displays.

The organic shapes can be attached to a wall piece by piece (believe it or not), or can be attached to a tile and then installed on the wall. I am blown away by the dreamy quality these pieces have, and how wonderful they look. So to all the wallpaper lovers out there, I hope this can be a great compromise.

Under Construction

Hi Everyone!

As You can see, I am changing my blog format. All I wanted to do was make my photos larger, but I had to change my template to do it. Well, that changed the size of my banner, and I haven't been able to adjust it. As I am writing this, it is after 1:00 a.m. and I am really tired now. So, I hope everyone can be patient with me.

Traveling DWR Style

I saw this today, and I am wishing I could take a long road trip. Design With Reach has
updated the classic Airstream. I love how fresh and clean it is.

Secretly, I have always wanted an Airstream. I think this is the just the excuse I needed. And for a mere $49,066.00, I think I will run out and get one.
